PSAT

The PSAT and SAT are standardized exams that measure the foundational Reading, Writing, and Math skills essential for post secondary success.

Why We Use Them:

  • State Requirement: Both the SAT and PSAT are required components of the Michigan Merit Examination (MME). The SAT is administered to all public school juniors, and the PSAT is administered to all 9th and 10th graders to fulfill state and federal assessment mandates.
  • Preparation and Scholarship: The PSAT serves as a practice test for the SAT and determines eligibility for the National Merit Scholarship Program.
  • College Admissions: SAT scores are widely used by universities across the country for admissions, placement, and scholarship decisions.
  • Support Teaching and Learning: These required assessments yield key data points that are part of our balanced assessment system, allowing us to support and enhance teaching and learning throughout the district.
