Northville’s Science Olympiad teams delivered an outstanding performance at the Region 8 Tournament on March 1, 2025, at Wayne State University. The competition featured both Middle School (Division B) and High School (Division C) teams, with Northville excelling across all levels.
Northville High School Wins Regional Championship
Northville High School (NHS) dominated the Division C competition, securing 1st place and claiming the regional championship. Competing at both the varsity and junior varsity levels, NHS teams showcased their expertise across 23 science events, covering biology, physics, chemistry, earth and space science, engineering, and inquiry-based activities.
The varsity team’s performance was exceptional, earning medals in 22 out of 23 events and placing in the top three for each competition. With this victory, NHS has officially qualified for the Michigan State Tournament, set to take place at Michigan State University in Lansing on April 26, 2025.
Meads Mill and Hillside Excel in Middle School Division
In Division B, Northville’s middle school teams also put on an impressive display.
Meads Mill Middle School finished 2nd place at Regionals, earning a spot at the State Tournament.
Hillside Middle School followed closely behind, securing 3rd place and demonstrating Northville’s strength in STEM education.
All three varsity teams—NHS, Meads Mill, and Hillside—will advance to the State Tournament on April 26, where they will compete against the top teams from across Michigan.
Looking Ahead to States
The Region 8 Tournament was a thrilling and rewarding experience for all Northville Science Olympiad participants. The students, guided by dedicated coaches and mentors, have demonstrated remarkable hard work, collaboration, and passion for STEM.
